Supporting education and innovation.

Women of Color on Broadway (WOCoB) was founded in 2018 as an initiative to uplift women of African, Latin, and Asian descent who work in musical theatre as performers, composers, writers, producers, etc. Our ultimate goal is to present networking and career opportunities to high school and college female students through our special programming, mentoring with industry professionals, and internships with local and regional theater houses and production companies.

The Cabaret

Every year, we produce special programs and tribute concerts in New York City starring our co-founder Alexia Sielo and other prominent musical theater performers . Our tribute cabarets and special concerts are our strongest funding tool for our education program.

The Conversation

We work with high schools and colleges/universities to host workshops and special interviews with female Broadway performers of color, to guide students in launching their career in musical theater.

The Musical

To support our mission in providing work opportunities for Women of Color, we aim to develop a production center to curate shows and musicals that are written, directed, and produced by Women of Color, with strong female leads.

I think if we make progress in society, you see it on Broadway. Progress is usually driven by the music field and other areas of entreatment, and then those stories are told on Broadway.
